Book launch of Roger Scruton´s Notes from Underground

Roger Scruton, English philosopher, author of over thirty books, including Art and Imagination, The Meaning of Conservatism, The Philosopher on Dover Beach and The Aesthetics of Music, launched his new book Notes from Underground at the Czech Embassy in London on March 17.

Set in the twilight years of the Czechoslovak communist régime, Scruton´s new novel describes a doomed love affair between two young people trapped by the system. Scruton evokes a world in which every word and gesture bears a double meaning, as people seek to find truth amid the lies and love in the midst of betrayal.
