20th International Symposium on Separation Sciences, Prague, 30 August - 2 September 2014, www.isss2014.cz
The jubilee 20th International Symposium on Separation Sciences will cover recent advances in the theory,  instrumentation  and methodology of all types of separation techniques, including new types of stationary phases, particulate, monolithic and miniaturized capillary and chip-based fluidic separation media, hyphenated and multi-dimensional separations, method development including chemometric approaches, quality assessment, sample preparation, with emphasis on novel application methods, especially in food, biomedical and environmental analysis.

The scientific programme will include plenary and keynote lectures and poster sessions. The quality of the programme is an imperative for the success of the symposium. The following eminent scientists have so far agreed to present lectures on the latest achievements in separation techniques at the 20th ISSS in Prague: D. Berek, T. Bolanča, B. Buszewski, V. Coman, D. Corradini, F. Foret, M. Gertsiuk, M. Holčapek, V. Kašička, I. Klebovich, J. Lehotay, W. Lindner, L. Mondello, M. Novotný, P. Sandra, P. Schoenmakers, F. Švec, I. Vovk.

The goal of the 20th ISSS symposium will be advancing the knowledge of separation sciences and promoting exchange of new ideas on the academic and the industry level, providing new forum for collaboration and networking. During the symposium, you will have opportunities to exchange valuable practical experience and to find solutions for your particular analytical problems. The future of separation sciences depends on young scientists, who will be offered registration at special reduced fee to facilitate the participation at the symposium.


14th International Nutrition & Diagnostics Conference 2014, Prague, 2 - 5 September 2014, www.indc.cz
The 14th International Nutrition & Diagnostics Conference 2014 (INDC 2014) will take place at the Hotel DAP, Prague, Czech Republic. Chaired by Assoc. Prof. Aleš Horna and supported by the Czech Society of Nutrition and the Czech Society of Probiotics and Prebiotics, the INDC conference series is a leading meeting dedicated to nutrition and clinical diagnostics. Prague offers a delightful location for the meeting, as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Keynote lectures will be presented by leading academic and industrial scientists from around the world including Mirek Macka (University of Tasmania, Australia); Jianbo Xiao (Central South University, China); Helena Tlaskalová-Hogenová (Charles University, Czech Republic). A range of topics related to nutrition and diagnostics will be covered during the meeting including: Advances in probiotics and human health; separation sciences in clinical diagnosis and nutrition; aging and nutrition; novel diagnostic approaches; health and food safety; cardiovascular disease; polyphenols; functional foods; antioxidants; immunity; maternal and infant health; food safety and health;  novel trends in food processing and diagnostics; food microbiology;  analytical methods for analysis of biological materials; pediatric aspects of nutrition; nutrition related diseases; beer and health;  and biomarkers.
In addition to the scientific content, INDC 2014 will include an industrial exhibition where delegates can learn about the latest developments in instrumentation for clinical diagnosis, and separation science.
