On 10-11 May, 2011 the 52nd international charity fair was organized in Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Czech Embassy in London was among 72 participating embassies, offering the traditional Czech products under the auspices of Mrs Jana Žantovská, the Ambassador´s wife. More than 6 000 visitors came during the two days.
The traditional charity event is organized every spring to support the CFAB (Protecting Children And Uniting Families Across Borders), helping children and families in need under the patronage of HRH Princess Alexandra. The participating embassies sell national products and promote their countries to visitors.
James Husband, the Mayor of the RBKC opened the fair and later visited the Czech stall, accompanied by the Ambassadador Michael Žantovský. The Czech products were donated by six companies. Archa Program and Ceeda Cavity and Kouzelné hračky provided classical wooden toys. AG Plus and Czech Bijoux donated the traditional jewellery and the Czech traditional china was offered by Epiag Lofida. Mineral water Mattoni and renowned beer Pilsner Urquell were available for customers, too.
The Ambassador´s wife Mrs Jana Žantovská presented the Czech products to HRH Princess Alexandra who was interested in the ecological beeswax finishing of the wooden toys.
The CFAB international fair became a social event during its more than fifty years of history. Czech Republic´s participation is a very important part of the country promotion in the United Kingdom, as well as towards the international community.
