The Czech Embassy participated in the annual CFAB World Market at Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall on 11-12th May. HRH Princess Alexandra was a Patron of the charity.
This year the Czech stall specialised in the traditional Czech products, under the auspices of Mrs. Jana Žantovská, wife of the Ambassador. It featured a selection of traditional wooden toys, kindly donated by J. Pavel - Wooden Toys and white porcelain of Haas & Czjzek, the Czech traditional producer since 1946. The Czech products are very popular at the Fair's visitors.
The proceeds from the sale were donated to the Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB) charity for their assistance to people who have been separated from family members as a consequence of divorce, migration, seeking asylum, trafficking and abduction.
The World Market is an annual event of the international cooperation in the cause of helping broken and divided families whose particular problems frequently involve more than one language or legal system or cross national boundaries. For over fifty years it has been the chief fundraising event for the UK branch of the charity.
