It is with deep sorrow that the Czech Embassy announces the death of Dr. James Naughton, University Lecturer in Czech and Slovak, Fellow of St Edmund Hall, Oxford. Dr. Naughton passed away on Sunday 9 February 2014.
He will always be remembered as an excellent researcher of modern and early modern Czech and Slovak language and literature. His translations works and publications provided inestimable informal insight into the Czech language and literature as seen by an English speaker. His passing is an irreplaceable loss for the whole community of scholars on Czech and Slovak language and literature in the Great Britain.
