At the presence of the Czech Ambassador Michael Žantovský, the Slovak Ambassador Juraj Zervan, Representative of HM’s Lord Lieutenant of Surrey brig Graeme Bartlett MBE, the Czech Deputy Minister of Defence Michael Hrbata, the Czech Air Force Commander in Chief brig gen Jiří Verner, the Director of the Historical Military Institute col Aleš Knížek, the Mayor of Woking Mohammed Iqbal, chairman of the Free Czechoslovak Air Force Association UK col Arnošt Polák, Czechoslovak veterans living in the UK and the Czech Republic and many distinguished guests a memoral act was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the arrival of Czechoslovak airmen and soldiers in the UK and their fight against the Nazis in the WWII.

After the speeches the official guests laid wreaths to the memorial of Czechoslovak airmen. Air cadets lead by squadron leader Alan Talbot C in C, the Surrey branch RAF, laid heather sprigs to graves of five Czechoslovak airmen from 311^th RAF squadron who died in Cairngorm  in 1945 on a flight from Scotland to London.

The Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic presented the veterans with a medal commemorating the 90^th anniversary of Czechoslovakia.

More than a hundred of guests attended the memorial act to commemorate the bravery of Czechoslovaks during the World War II.
