The Czech Republic Minister of Defence, Mr. Alexandr Vondra, honoured the memory of the soldiers who have died in the line of duty since World War I.

On the occasion of the Remembrance Day, November 11, Mr. Alexandr Vondra, the Defence Minister of the Czech Republic, together with H.E. Michael Žantovský, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom, honoured the memory of the soldiers who died in world wars by laying a wreath at Westminster Abbey Czechoslovak soldiers Memorial.
November 11 was specifically dedicated by King George V as a day of remembrance of members of the armed forces who were killed during World War I.
In the Czech Republic, the Veterans Day started to be commemorated in 2001.
