The Velvet Revolution remembered in London

Vladimír Merta, the renowned Czech musician, film director and poet performed in Porterhouse and the UCL to remember the 21st anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.

The Czech Embassy co-organized a performance of Vladimír Merta, the Czech musician, architect and poet to remember the 21st anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia in 1989.

As a part of ten-days Czech Beer Festival organized by CzechTourism London, Mr Merta's performance was held on 17 November 2010 in Porterhouse, Covent Garden, introduced by the Ambassador Žantovský. Ten Czech beer brands were available during the evening.

On the next day the Embassy together with the University College London organized Mr Merta's performance and discussion in Masaryk's Room, School of Slavonic and East European Studies. The discussion was moderated by Prof Robert Pynsent in the presence of Ambassador Michael Žantovský.
