A drama-documentary on the story of Nicholas Winton, the British man who saved 669 children, most of them Jews, from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia was premiered in BAFTA in London on November 10. The UK premiere was organised under the auspices of the Slovak Prime Minister, Mrs. Iveta Radicova, and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, Mrs. Miroslava Nemcova.
Sir Nicholas Winton attended the premiere and met some of those whose lives he saved.
Sir Nicholas organised a total of eight trains from Prague to London, and helped find foster families for the refugees. The story of his mission came to light only in the late 1980s. For 50 years, he told no-one of the transports he had helped organise.
