Opening of the first Honorary Consulate in Honolulu

On Thursday, February 16, 2012, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States Petr Gandalovič and the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles Michal Sedláček opened the first Honorary Consulate in Honolulu.
Mrs. Ann Ching was introduced as the new Honorary Consul for the state of Hawaii, and will function as a valuable representative of the Czech Republic. The main mission of the Honorary Consulate in Honolulu will be to facilitate activities and promotional events for the Czech Republic, with additional emphasis on the development of Czech-American relations. Mrs. Ching will also provide services to assist in consular affairs.
In addition to the recent dedication of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Livingston, Montana, the new Honorary Consulate in Honolulu shows the increased presence of the Czech Republic in major US regions. The added Consulates serve to promote global cohesion and work for the mutual exchange of economic, political, and cultural relations.
