(This article expired 30.11.2019.)

On September 7, 2014 in San Francisco (California) hundreds of start-up companies were brought together from around the world at TechCrunch Disrupt. The conference was attended by 12 selected Czech companies that were supported also by presence of the Czech Ambassador Petr Gandalovič, Director of CzechInvest Petr Pospíšil and Consul General n Los Angeles Michal Sedláček.

Czech companies represented the start-ups environment more than successfully. Oscar Tech Inc., offering mobile app for seniors, won the competition for the best SiriusXM issuing start-up and got the opportunity to reach out to others interested in TechCrunch Disrupt London.

Czech start-ups also presented overseas to dozens of local investors at the residence of the Honorary Consul General of the Czech Republic in San Francisco Richard Pivnicka. Present investors got interested in such start-ups as BlindShell intuitive mobile application for the visually impaired. The conference was also visited by the Czech Ambassador Petr Gandalovič accompanied by a delegation from CzechInvest who met with representatives of major companies from Silicon Valley.

TechCrunch Disrupt event is ideal for successful Czech start-ups with global ambitions. In the future, support for the Czech representation in the form of national pavilion is planned.
