Visit by the Ambassador Petr Gandalovič to Utah

The Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Petr Gandalovič visited the State of Utah in late January. He was accompanied by the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles Michal Sedlacek.
The program was organized by the Honorary Consul in Salt Lake City Mr. Jonathon Tichy. Ambassador Gandalovič met with the Utah Governor Gary Herbert and local Church leaders on Thursday. They discussed importance of international trade relations to the economic growth of both, The Czech Republic and Utah. He also held meetings with the key members of Utah´s congressional delegation during his visit. The Ambassador also lectured at the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Birgham Young University and at Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah. Both lectures are posted online. He also promoted the Czech Republic to Utah business and civic leaders at a special luncheon hosted by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Center Utah. Ambassador also attended reception at the Bohemian Brewery & Grill – the largest privately-owned Czech restaurant and hospitality venue in the United States, where he met with the members of the local Czech & Slovak local community. At this event, Mr. Gandalovič presented the Jan Masaryk Award to Helena Petras and her late husband Joe Petras – founders and proprietors of the Bohemian.
