Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic addressed the Human Rights Council

On 4th March 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr. Lubomír Zaorálek addressed the High-Level Segment of the 25th Session of the Human Rights Council.
Minister Zaorálek touched upon priority human rights issues and the recent events in Ukraine. Minister warned that the Russian military intervention was not only a breach of international law and the UN Charter but could also spiral into human rights and humanitarian catastrophe. Minister repeated the Czech Republic´s full support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and called for a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine in accordance with the principles of international law.
In the margins of the Human Rights Council, Minister Zaorálek met representatives of the Human Rights Watch and Human Rights House Network.
During his stay in Geneva, Minister met bilaterally with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Nikola Poposki to discuss the European integration, Eastern partnership and topical issues.
