During the High-Level Segment on Enhancing International Cooperation, Solidarity, Local Capacities and Humanitarian Action for Refugees in Africa, the Czech Republic commended African countries for their generosity and solidarity in relation to the large number of refugees they are hosting. It further stressed the necessity for humanitarian access to people in need. The Czech Republic appreciated the efforts of the UNHCR in searching after long-term sustainable solutions for refugees and IDPs through voluntary returns or relocation programmes.

The UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon participated in the Executive Committee as its special guest.
