(This article expired 12.10.2012.)

During its 18th Session the Human Rights Council held an interactive dialogue with the Commission of Inquiry on the situation of human rights in Libya (19th September 2011).

The Commission provided an oral update of its report it had presented to the Human Rights Council at its 17th Session (May/June 2011). The report is available at the website of the Human Rights Council, http://www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/hrcouncil/17session/reports.htm.

The Czech Republic has, in addition to the standard alignment with the European Union intervention, participated in the dialogue with its national statement. The Czech Republic condemned all violations of human rights perpetrated in Libya and stressed that bringing those who committed those violations to impartial and fair trial is a necessary step in the process of the national reconciliation. The Czech Republic expressed its readiness to share experiences from its own transition to democracy and rule of law.

Full version of the statement made by the Czech Republic is attached.
