UN Human Rights Council holds urgent debate and adopts a resolution on escalating human rights violations in Syria

On 1 March the Human Rights Council concluded its urgent debate on the human rights and humanitarian situation in Syria and adopted a resolution.
The resolution addressing the escalating grave human rights violations and deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country was adopted by a vote of 37 in favour, 3 against (Russia, China, Cuba) and 3 abstentions (Equador, India, the Philippines)
The Czech Republic participated in the debate with a national statement stressing the need to cease all violence and urgently address the humanitarian needs.
