The Commission of Inquiry on Libya had confirmed that the Qadhafi forces had committed crimes against humanity and war crimes.
The Commission had also concluded that war crimes had been committed by thuwar, brigades of fighters that rose up against the regime, and that violations of international human rights law continued to occur in a climate of impunity.
In the interactive dialogue, the Czech Republic expressed its deep concern over the findings regarding the gravity of the crimes perpetrated by the Qadhafi forces. It also stressed the need to address impunity and to proceed with institutional and legal reforms.
