In February 2012, the Czech Republic provided a voluntary contribution to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in order to support the modernization of its Safeguards Analytical Laboratories in Seibersdorf (Austria).
Following the Czech voluntary contribution of €26,000 from 2009, we provided an additional contribution of €41,741 to help improve analytical capacities of the IAEA.
The activity of Safeguards Analytical Laboratories is of crucial importance for the Agency’s ability to detect nuclear materials during safeguards inspections.
Through its recent contribution, the Czech Republic has expressed its support for the main objectives of the Prague Agenda from 2009: strengthening of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Nuclear Disarmament, and Fight against Nuclear Terrorism.
