The Seoul Summit confirmed the key role of IAEA in fighting nuclear terorism

The Nuclear Security Summit took place in Seoul in March 25 to 27, 2012. The goal was to strenghten the commitment in the field of security of nuclear material and facilities from possible abuse and mitigate the threat of nuclear terorism.
Seoul Communiqué reaffirmed the shared goals of nuclear disarmament, nuclear nonproliferation and peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Noting the essential role of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in facilitating international cooperation and supporting the efforts of States to fulfill their nuclear security responsibilities.
