Ambassador M. Stašek held meetings with governments of Haryana and Punjab in Chandigarh

Miloslav Stašek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, visited Chandigarh, capital of Punjab and Haryana on February 26 – 28, 2014 in order to meet relevant representatives of local governments, education and cultural institutions and main business players in order to deepen the bilateral cooperation with the Czech REpublic.
Ambassador M. Stašek together with Deputy Chief of Mission Mrs. Andrea Kučerová called on Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Shivraj V. Pati, Chief Minister of Haryana Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Punjab Minister of Industry, Trade and Technical Education Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Haryana Minister of Energy Capt. Ajay Singh, Punjab Minister of High Education Mr. Sikander Singh Malukau and Punjab Minister of Tourism, Cultural Affairs and Museum Mr. Swarn Singh Philluar.
During his visit to Chandigarh, Ambassador Mr. M. Stašek also inaugurated the exhibition of “Brno/the City of Bauhaus Spirit” in Sangeet Natak Akademi and first “Czech Film Festival” in the same place.
Ambassador Mr. Stašek also discussed possible bilateral cooperation in the field of culture and education with Director of „Chandigarh College of Architecture“ Prof. Pradeep Bhagat, Director of „Sangeet Natak Akademi“ Mr. Gurcharan Singh Chani and Dean of „Chandigarh University“ Dr. R. S. Bawa.
Ambassador Mr. Stašek also met with representatives of PHD Chamber of Commerce, as part of the continuing efforts to increase Czech Republic´s bilateral trade with India.
M. Stašek announced that the Czech Republic business delegation would visit Punjab in May 2014.
