The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India Miloslav Stašek visited the international exhibition of products in the field of energy “POWER-GEN India & Central Asia 2013” held between 6th - 8th May 2013 in Mumbai, which was attended by Czech companies as well.
With a history of attracting over 9,000 attendees from over 70 countries around the globe, POWER-GEN India & Central Asia has developed a world-wide reputation for being the leading industry event to address India’s major power challenges. Under the theme, Indian Power - Time to Deliver, the event brought together decision makers and influencers as well as technical experts and professionals from leading companies involved in the power generation, transmission and distribution within India and around the world.
During his visit, the ambassador M. Stašek held a meeting with representatives of the Czech companies, which supply their products to India long-term and were present at the fair, such as Fans (cooling towers for Indian power plants), Sigma Group (pumps for irrigation projects), Škoda Doosan (projects in the energy sector) and ČKD Blansko Engineering (turbines and pumps for Indian hydropower plants and pumping stations).
Energy and distribution network in India is outdated, electricity production does not manage to cover the growing demand and power outages are rampant. The urgent need to upgrade the entire network and a construction of new power plants represent great potential opportunities for Czech companies dedicated to energy activities.
