This allows them to show diverse palettes of music from the various periods of time. “Spork Quartet” also regularly invites guests to expand and diversify their concerts and enrich the sound of this ensemble.
„Špork Quartet“ chose for India the repertoire of baroque and classicist music of G. Tartini, J.S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, J. Haydn, G.F. Händel, E. Granadose, A. Kraft, N. Paganini, A. Vivaldi, J. Ibert and Z. Tošnar.
The “Spork Quartet” was founded in 1990. The name “Spork Quartet” was chosen in honor of the owner of the Czech Castle in Lysá nad Labem - the earl František Antonín Špork - who was a famous lover and patron of the arts. Spork quartet consists of: Věra Vartová - violin, Jiří Krupička - violoncello, Karel Novotný - guitar and artistic director of the ensemble, and Jitka Krupičková - flutist. This relatively long existing chamber music ensemble significantly contributes to the cultural life not just in its neighborhood. They are often invited to the concerts and musical collaboration with other chamber music ensembles throughout the Czech Republic. The group has also presented its concerts abroad, specifically in Germany in Wolferstadt. Since 2009, the ensemble has been regularly invited to the concert tour in the Italian Gargano.
