The 3rd “European Union Film Festival” in Kathmandu took place on February 20 – 23, 2014, this year also with the participation of the Czech film “Little Girl Blue”.
A four-day 'European Union Film Festival' took place at the QFX Kumari Hall-2 at Kamal Pokhari from 20 to 23 Feb, 2014 under the theme 'Celebrating Women'.
As the theme suggests, the movies were based on the life of European women from sixteen different European Union Member States – apart of the Czech Republic also UK, Denmark, Germany, Italy, France, Finland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Netherland and Sweden.
The festival showcased the highs and lows faced by European women and aimed at creating solidarity for the protection and promotion of women's rights. The movies are masterpieces of contemporary European cinematographic art.
The Czech Republic this year screened the film „Little Girl Blue“. The one day life story written and directed by Alice Nellis and produced by Oscar winning director Jan Svěrák presents in a gentle way the various shapes of love and life desires, accompanied by a subtle music of jazz legend Nina Simone.
