Czech Marionette Theater Karromato in India

Karromato’s marionette theatre has delighted audiences in more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It draws on the classic traditions of European marionette theater and all its productions speak directly to the heart by using music, universal humor, and the unique personality of each hand-crafted marionette.

Karromato makes all its marionettes in its own workshop, using wood with utmost attention to detail in painting, costumes and sets. The traditional materials and techniques evoke nostalgia for a by-gone age, and the magic of childhood dreams.

Karromato was founded in Prague in 1997 by artists from the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Spain, bringing together their experience from various theatrical backgrounds. All members of the company share in the productions as puppeteers and builders.

Karromato marionette theatre will conduct a series of performances in Delhi. Karromato participates in the official inauguration of the 10. “Little Europe Film Festival” held on 18th October at the Delhi University. Afterwards, Karromato will conduct several theatre performances within the Durga Puja Festival from 19th-23rd October, 2012, and finally perform within the famous Delhi International Arts Festival on 29th October at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre.
