Moravian folklore entertained Indian audience at five stages in New Delhi and Mumbai

Folklore group „Gajdoši“ presented Moravian traditional and vivid music in India on 11 – 15 March 2013. Gajdoši group accompanied Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Kuba and played on various cultural – business occasions in Mumbai and New Delhi.

 

Folklore group Gajdoši introduced their music on 11 March 2013 in Azad Bhawan cultural institute, organized by ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). On 12 March 2013, Gajdoši presented Moravian traditional folklore at the reception given by Minister Mr. Martin Kuba at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi. Gajdoši also played during a reception at the residence of Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Mumbai Mrs. Rashmi Jollly on 13 March 2013, given for the Czech and Indian economic and business elites in Mumbai.  Gajdoši also amused with their vivid traditional performance and songs the participants of Czech – India Evening in Leela Mumbai hotel on 14 March 2013 and also during a ceremonial evening of India Engineering Sourcing Show in Mumbai on 15 March 2013 for  more than 1000 guests.

Gajdoši music was warmly welcomed in India on all the five stages and confirmed that Czech folklore music has a highly positive response in India.

Folklore group Gajdoši, which is celebrating 25th anniversary this year, plays both traditional and nowadays folklore music from Moravian and Czech region. Gajdoši also include into their repertoire historical music from gothic, renaissance, baroque epoch with the use of various musical instruments such as violin, guitar, contrabass, dulcimer, bag-pipes, drums etc. Gajdoši already performed in Rome, Utrech, Rennes, Leeds, Vienna, Paris, Dijon, Malta etc.
