Travel Medical Insurance - New Regulation

Starting from the 1st of September 2014 new rules regarding travel medical insurance will be introduced by Visa Section of Embassy of the Czech Republic.

Only insurance provided by below mentioned insurance companies will be accepted when applying for short-term Schengen Visa.

1) Apollo Munich for the age group of 6 months to 70 years
2) Bajaj Allianz for the age group of 6 months to 70 years
3) Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company for the age group of 0 month to 70 years
4) Future Generali India for the age group of 6 months to 70 years
5) HDFC Ergo for the age group of 3 months to 70 years
6) ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company 3 months - 85 years
7) IFFCO Tokio for the age group of 3 months to 70 years
8) Reliance General Insurance Company for the age group of 3 months to 70 years
9) Religare Health Insurance Company without age limit (Explore Europe and Explore Platinum Plans)
10) Royal Sundaram for the age group of 3 months to 70 years
11) SBI General Insurance Company for the age group of 6 months to 70 years
12) Star Health and Allied Insurance for the age group of 6 months to 70 years
13) Tata/AIG for the age group of 6 months to 55 years
Silver Schengen Plan 56-70 years
Senior Schengen Plan 71-79 years
14) The New India Assurance Company for the age group of 6 month to 70 years
15) The Oriental Insurance Company for the age group of 6 months to 60 years
16) United India Insurance Company for the age group of 0 month to 65 years
17) Universal Sompo for the age group of 0 month to 70 years


Applicants who are out of this age frame are obliged to cover they stay by insurance provided by any foreigner insurance company.

The minimum coverage remains the same. (30 000EUR)

All applicants are obliged to follow this regulation.

Applications without correct travel medical insurance will not be accepted.
