After a longer pause the Czech companies will participate in the Industrial Trade Fair in Norway. The Czech national stand will feature the presentation of 4 companies, the Czech Chamber of Commerce and CzechTrade.

Summer Schools of Slavonic (Czech) Studies 2010

The Summer School of Slavonic Studies is designed for the specialists of the Slavic and Bohemistic field, postgraduate and undergraduate students, translators and for everybody, who is interested in the Czech language, literature, history and culture. In addition to a survey of contemporary research in Czech language and literature and Czech history, it provides many cultural opportunities. A wide range of instruction, including practical language courses, optional seminars and specialized lectures, will be offered by highly qualified teaching staff.

Acknowledgements for participants of the exhibition LIDICE 2009

Three children from Norway received the acknowledgements for their participation in the 37th year of the International Exhibition of Children´s Fine Art LIDICE 2009 on Friday 14th November 2009 at the Embassy.

Film series Fall of the Wall

Between 20.10. and 13.11.2009 the Cinemateket Oslo screens a thematic film series Fall of the Wall with contributions from Austria, Estland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland and Romania.

Literary seminar

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism the Czech Embassy organized a literary seminar on 30.10.2009 in the Litteraturhuset with the two special guests from Czechia: Ivan Klíma and Jáchym Topol.

Exhibition in the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery

The Jaroslav Fragner Gallery presents an exhibition dedicated to the Czech architect Martin Roubík (1949–2008), who lived in Norway for a half of his life. The exhibition also presents Roubik as a co-founder and architect of the legendary Norwegian architectonic studio Snøhetta, the publishing house Arfo and the gallery ROM.

Czech Republic has opened third Honorary Consulate in Norway

Already third Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic has been opened in Norway. In addition to the Honorary Consulate in Bergen and Trondheim the Honorary Consulate for the northern Norway has taken up the activity.
