The Embassy of the Czech Republic cordially invites you to the concerts of Czech piano music, organised in the framework of the Year of Czech Music 2014. Concerts take place in Cape Town on 17 and 19 October 2014 and in Johannesburg on 20 October 2014.

Michaela Malá Simpson a/and Lukáš Klánský

Two accomplished Czech pianists Michaela Malá Simpson and Lukáš Klánský bring you the famous and powerful Dvořák´s Slavonic Dances. This glorious piece, well known in the orchestra version, will be performed in the Piano Duet version.  Michaela and Lukas studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague together and they are bonded by a great friendship which started at an early age. Lukas participated in many concerts, competitions and at various cultural events in his home country and internationally. He performs as a solo pianist as well as a chamber musician with his piano trio, which recently won the first prize at the international Brahms competition in Austria. Michaela moved to Cape Town in 2013 and established herself as a piano teacher, also cooperating with local musicians.
