(This article expired 29.12.2017.)

In the long run, the Czech Republic has been actively supporting democratic development in Kosovo as well as building and development of basic structures and functions required for a proper functioning of the state. By ways of bilateral activities, also within the framework of the international community, the Czech Republic in Kosovo pursues the following goals:

  • Stable security environment
  • Economically standard environment
  • A functioning legal environment and law enforcement;

The Czech Republic also supports Kosovo’s European integration efforts since it considers it to be an effective way for attaining the above mentioned goals. In this connection the Czech Republic supports:

  • The dialogue concerning visa liberalisation which would enable the cancellation of visa requirements for Kosovo citizens, as soon as Kosovo meets all the conditions;
  • The dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade which would enable normalisation of relations between the two countries;
  • Negotiations for establishing the Agreement on Stabilisation and Association of Kosovo which would be favourable for EU countries and contribute to securing stability, security, democracy and prosperity within the entire region of Western Balkans. The agreement will also be a response to an apparent and sustainable progress.
