Reception on the occasion of the Czech National Day

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pristina organized on 28th of October 2014 a reception on the occasion of the Czech National Day and commemoration of 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in former Czechoslovakia.
In his speech, Ambassador Ivo Šilhavý appreciated the engagement of Czech experts working in Kosovo, especially he emphasized the professionalism of Czech prosecutors, judges, policemen, soldiers, advisors and businessmen. In the course of the official speech, Henrik Markuš, Head of the Slovak Liaison Office in Pristina, was invited to take the floor to share his views on commemoration of the legacy of the Velvet Revolution. At the end of a joint appearance, Ambassador Šilhavý emphasized the key values which inspired the transformation process in Czechoslovakia 25 years ago – freedom, respect, dignity, truth and love.
As a guest of honor, Madam President Atifete Jahjaga took part at the reception. Distinguished guests included the representatives of the Kosovo political, cultural and business life as well as Czech staff members of the EULEX, KFOR, UNMIK, UNDP and OSCE missions, and of the diplomatic corps in Pristina.
