Minister Schwarzenberg in Palestine

On 6-7 May, 2012 Karel Schwarzenberg, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, payed an official visit to the Palestinian territories.
On 6 May, 2012 Minister Schwarzenberg met with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Malki and with Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. The discussions were focused mainly on bilateral issues, current situation in the Middle East region and prospects for the solution of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with special attention to settlement activities.
Minister Schwarzenberg also held a meeting in Nabulus with Munib Rashid al-Masri, one of the most important Palestinian businessmen, philanthropists and politicians.
The Palestinian territories belong to priority countries in terms of Czech development cooperation. On that account, Minister Schwarzenberg visited one of Czech development projects in Palestine, vocational centre for car mechanics, based in United Motors Trade, Ramallah.
On 7 May, Minister Schwarzenberg hosted a breakfast with prominent East Jerusalem residents Hind Khoury, Hiba Husseini, Bernard Sabella and Sami Abu Dayyeh.
