Permanent Representative to the Political and Security Committee
Ambassador David Konecký took up the post of the Czech Permanent Representative to the Political and Security Committee of the EU on 15 August 2013. Prior to that, he served as the Director of the Common Foreign and Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in Prague.
Ambassador Konecký was born in 1977. He studied international economic and political relations and graduated from the University of Economics in Prague with a doctorate and from the Charles University in Prague with a master's degree. He joined the Ministry in 2002.
Throughout his career, Ambassador Konecký has focused on security policy and multilateral diplomacy. He served as the Head of Political Section of the Czech Permanent Delegation to NATO in Brussels.
Ambassador Konecký is married with three children. He speaks English, German and French.
