Brussels tastes Czech and Moravian specialties

Date: 11 July 2012, Venue: Brussels

Ambassadors and representatives of the European institutions in Brussels highly appreciated a joint presentation of agricultural producers from the Czech Republic.

The annual Wine Party organised by the Czech Ambassador to the EU Milena Vicenová on Wednesday 11 July 2012, presented the best typical Czech and Moravian food, wine and beer.

The event brought together Ambassadors to the EU, Czech MEPs, representatives of the Special Committee on Agriculture of the EU Council, the European External Action Service and the European Commission and the Council of the EU at the level of Directors General and Directors, including the Czech representatives. Top officials of Czech organizations and regional representations in Brussels participated along with prominent Czech and foreign business leaders.

The Wine Party has become a showcase of the Czech and Moravian agricultural products and a joint event of several organisations and companies. A great selection of South Moravian wines was brought to Brussels by the National Wine Centre in Valtice in cooperation with the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic. The Czech Ministry of Agriculture and the State Agricultural Intervention Fund selected typical Czech culinary specialties bearing prestigious quality brand mark “KLASA”. Chips from Strážnice and pork greaves of the CzechTourism perfectly complemented the Budweiser Budvar beer. And a typical South Moravian atmosphere was brought to Brussels by a cymbal music band from Mikulčice.
