Central European Institute of Technology opens its gates

The CEITEC Institute in Brno is to be launched at a conference by Prime Minister Petr Nečas.

The first large research and development project supported in the Czech Republic by EU funding will officially launch on Monday 26 September 2011. The opening conference will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Nečas and representatives of the European Commission, among others.

The CEITEC project aims to set up a Central European centre of scientific excellence in Brno through the cooperation of six local universities and research institutes. Its goal is to provide perfect conditions for basic and applied research in the field of life sciences and advanced materials and technology.
