Seminar unveils business opportunities in EU projects

Date: 24 November 2010, Venue: Brussels

An event co-organised by the Czech Permanent Representation focuses on water supply and treatment in third countries.

Up to 200 participants took part in a seminar organized by the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU together with the Czech Business Representation - CEBRE and Czech Trade in Brussels, the Permanent Representation of Germany and the Swedish Embassy to Belgium.

Sector seminars on business opportunities in European Union external aid programmes are organized twice a year by the Permanent Representations and Trade Promotion Organizations of eighteen Member States of the European Union. The most recent seminar, organized by The Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden, focused on water supply and wastewater treatment in the EU external aid programmes.

The seminar aimed to provide quality information to participants about future plans of the European Union in third countries in the water sector, to offer an opportunity to ask experts from the European Commission on details on the spot, to consult problems of further financing of the projects with representatives from the European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and to facilitate negotiations between companies themselves.
