Czech Representation hosts Visegrad Four Prime Ministers

Heads of Government of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia coordinated their positions before an informal EU summit at the Czech Permanent Representation.
Prime Ministers Petr Nečas (Czech Republic), Viktor Orbán (Hungary), Donald Tusk (Poland) and Iveta Radičová (Slovakia) met at the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels on Monday 30 January 2012 to coordinate their positions before an informal meeting of the members of the European Council. This meeting, in the afternoon of the same day, discussed ways of strengthening EU growth and competitiveness as well as the new intergovernmental „fiscal compact“.
The meeting was organised by Czech PM Petr Nečas, whose country currently holds the presidency of the Visegrad Group. Negotiation of the Visegrad Heads of Government was prepared by a meeting of the four countries’ Permanent Representatives to the EU, held by Ambassador Milena Vicenová on Thursday 26 January 2012.
The Prime Ministers agreed that the crucial question for the upcoming top-level EU meeting would be the participation of non-eurozone countries in the planned summits of countries that use the common currency.
