Visit of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May 2013

From 18th till 20th May 2013 the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg and his delegation visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. H.E. Karel Schwarzenberg has been accompanied by a business delegation of 16 Czech companies that was headed by a Czech Chamber of Commerce.
Minister Schwarzenberg met with H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, H.R.H. Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Foreign Minister, H.R.H. Prince Saud Al Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Tawiq Al Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry and H.E. Dr. Abdulah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabiah, Minister of Health.
The Czech Business Mission held business seminar and B2B meetings at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.
The main aim of the visit was to strengthen political and economic relations between both countries. Apart of the political meeting mentioned above and signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between ministries of foreign affaris Minister Schwarzenberg had a successful meeting with the Minister of Health whom he handed over the invitation from the Czech minister of health to visit Czech Republic. The Saudi side was interested in cooperation with the Czech partners particularly in the area of research, construction of hospitals and in providing of Czech experts (nurses, doctors).
