SEOUL – exhibition of Czech puppets and marionettes

Modern Czech puppets and marionettes from the last quarter a century are on display on new exhibition at Czech Centre Seoul.

Historical overview of modern and contemporary Czech puppetry from the last quarter of a century is held at Czech Centre Seoul (http://seoul.czechcentres.cz), from October 31, 2013 to January 31, 2014. Co-organized with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul it has two parts. The first part provided by the Arts and Theatre Institute of the Czech Republic (www.idu.cz) was curated by Ms. Kateřina Lešková Dolenská and mainly consists of photographs of contemporary Czech puppet shows made directly by the curator. The second part was prepared by Mun Suho – acclaimed Korean puppeteer and an expert on Czech puppet theatre and a collector of Czech marionettes and puppets - who presents a part of his personal puppets collection. Moreover a puppet of famous Don Giovanni made by Czech National Marionette Theatre (www.mozart.cz) which was a.o. featured in TV drama Lovers from Prague will be also displayed.
