SEOUL – National Day of the Czech Republic celebration

On the occassion of the National Day of the Czech Republic, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Jaroslav Olša, jr., has organized a concert followed by a small reception on October 28, 2011.
Two dozens of Czech singers of Iuventus mixed choir performed a capella secular and sacred music followed by selection of traditional Czech folk songs. Iuventus choir (www.iuventus.cz), founded in 1988, is a winner on various international competitions in Austria, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Hungary. After performing in many European countries, in last few years Iuventus has been invited for performances in Argentina, Colombia and the Republic of Korea.
The following reception which was attended by 250 guests, among them more than thirty ambassadors, had also a special guest of honour – Hon. Dan Jiránek (www.dan-jiranek.cz), Mayor of important Czech industrial city of Kladno (www.mestokladno.cz) who also serves as the President of Union of Czech Cities and Towns.
Reception was held in auditorium of Ilshin Building, filled with great pieces of modern and contemporary art by Korean artists, the unique place to celebrate the national day, but also the best venue to mark formally the end of Czech Points in Seoul – five-weeks-long marathon of more than twenty Czech cultural events held in Seoul during the October 2011.
