Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Hon. Byeong Seug Park visited the Czech Republic on May 27–29, 2013. Accompanied by assemblymen Kim Woo-nam, Yoon Hu-duk, Jeon Hae-chol and Park Wan-joo, he was hosted by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Hon. Milan Štěch.
Vice Speaker Park was also received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Hon. Karel Schwarzenberg and Vice-Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Hon. Lubomír Zaorálek.

During the visit both parties described Czech-Korean bilateral relations as excellent, emphasized the importance of parliamentary visits and positively evaluated dynamic development of bilateral trade and economic relations. Particularly welcomed were investment activities of Korean companies in the Czech Republic.
Both sides expressed their support for expansion of advanced cooperation e.g. in science and technology and on third markets. With satisfaction they also noted intensive relations between Czech and Korean universities and supported further deepening of cultural cooperation, including the field of art.

Minister Schwarzenberg mentioned recent opening of the Czech Center in Seoul and expressed hope for early opening of Korean Cultural Center in the Czech Republic. Both sides envisaged good perspective for further development in tourism between the two countries, which already bring good results.
Mr Byeong-seug appreciated the Czech position with regard to the security situation on the Korean peninsula. Both sides exchanged their views on current development on the Korean peninsula and its perspective.
