President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson visited the Czech Republic

President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and the First Lady Dorritt Moussaieff paid an official state visit to the Czech Republic from May 16 to May 18, 2012. President Grímmson was also accompanied by Össur Skarphédinsson, Minister of Foreign Affairs who held the bilateral talks with his Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg on the margins of the presidential visit.

President Grímmson met with highest representatives of the Czech government: namely with Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic; with Petr Nečas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic; with Milan Štěch, President of the Senate of the Parliament and with Mrs. Miroslava Němcová, President of the House of Representatives of the Parliament.

President Grímsson was also received by Bohuslav Sobotka, Mayor of Prague, gave a lecture at the Charles University, visited the Film and TV School of academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and finally he joined the official Czech premiere of the Icelandic movie “Volcano” directed by Rúnar Rúnarsson in movie theatre Světozor.
