The region of South Moravia, which is situated on the Czech-Slovak-Austrian frontier, the cultivation and production of premium wines have a very long tradition. First wines were planted by the Roman legions under the command of Marcus Aurelius and at present, the Moravian quality wine could be called „Moravian growing gold“. Moravian winemakers are regularly receiving awards in international competitions, for example „Big gold medal“ for the Baloun´s wine Cuvée 22 (2013) in South Africa from September 2014. Presented wines in Stockholm included special sorts of wines such as so called „Ice-wine“ or „Straw-wine“ from Sedlec wines and other special editions from the participating Moravian winemakers (Alfons Mucha Collection, Mikrosvín Mikulov or Reisten).
