Seminar on Karel Čapek (1890-1938)

The Embassy of the Czech Republic organized the seminar about the Czech writer Karel Čapek and his work to commemorate 75 years since the death of the author (1890-1938) on June 6, 2013.
The seminar was commenced by Ambassador Jana Hynková and then Mrs. Tora Hedin, the teacher at the Department of Slavic Languages at Stockholm University, had a lecture about the author. Her students have translated selected stories of Karel Čapek during this spring semester and they read them at the Czech Centre in Stockholm at the above mentioned meeting. The audience was generous with praise. Finally Ambassador Jana Hynková thanked Mrs. Tora Hedin and her students for their excellent work with the texts of popular Czech writer.
Mrs. Tora Hedin is not only a teacher of Czech language at Stockholm University, but also she works as an editor and a translator from Czech to Swedish language at the Swedish publishing company Aspect. Aspect publishes Czech authors in Sweden.
