(This article expired 29.04.2014 / 15:00.)
On 1 May 2004 ten countries joined the European Union. It was the biggest enlargement of the EU in history. The European Union has gone from 15 to 28 member states in ten years and this has fundamentally changed the EU and revealed new challenges and opportunities. To mark the anniversary of the 2004 enlargement this seminar intends to discuss the achievements and lessons learnt of an enlarged Union and look forward at the challenges the EU and its member states are facing today.
