Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Australia

At the occasion of re-opening of a premier concert hall in Melbourne, there will be a rare opportunity to hear one of the great orchestras of the world in two exclusive concerts for Arts Centre Melbourne on 26 – 27 August 2012.

The Czech Philharmonic will present works including Bedrich Smetana's The Bartered Bride, Overture; Leos Janacek's From the House of the Dead, Overture and Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 6. The Orchestra will be conducted by a world class chief conductor Jiri Belohlavek. He will be joined by Concert Master and violin soloist Josef Spacek who as 23 years old ranks among the foremost representatives of today's young violin generation and 28 year old award-winning Bass Soloist Jan Martinik.
