Minister Schwarzenberg meets Murray McCully

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg met Foreign Minister of New Zealand Murray McCully at the Czernin Palace in Prague on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Ministers discussed further opportunities for develoment of bilateral relations and trade, such as recent establishment of Czech New Zealand Business Association in Auckland and recent opening of new Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Queenstown.

Minister Schwarzenberg has raised the question on recognition of Czech Republic issued Drivers Licences in New Zealand, concluding the mutual agreement to initiate the process for their recognition.

Ministers also discussed bilatera cultural exchange, such as support of exhibition of famous New Zealand painter of Maori chiefs Bohumir Lindauer in his city of birth, Pilsen in the Czech Republic.

Furhther discussed were aslo topics of participation of both countries in foreign missions in Afghanistan, human rights and economic development in the Pacific region.
