Tedom is to build power systems for Qantas in Australia

Czech company Tedom (manufacturer of buses, vehicle engines and co-generation units) expands into Australian market. Tedom is to build and equip co-generation units with a system output power of 11.9 megawatts for Qantas airlines.

Project worth of  21 million Australian dollars will be fully funded by Tedom."The expected  return of investment is within five years"  told the weekly magazine The Economist Josef Jeleček, CEO of Tedom.

To obtain the contract, company also had to buy Australian company GridX through which construction takes place.  Tedom cogeneration units have already been supplied to the Australian market, but this is the first contract for the construction of power unit.

"It is a decisive step for us to penetrate the Australian market, with first construction project to evolve gradually in  building up the energy company in Australia," adds Jeleček.


A company with an annual turnover of around 120 mil. AUD manufactures internal combustion engines, city buses, trades in electricity, but the flagship of the company are  cogeneration units that produce heat and electricity.
