The building of the new computer and PC components factory in the Czech city Kutná Hora has been commenced on Tuesday, 16th of October, by Taiwan-based company Foxconn. The Taiwanese investor plans to divide the entire construction in two stages. Production in the first part of the construction should be launched in February 2008 and the project should be finished by the end of June 2008, said Mr. Černý who is responsible for the investment. Foxconn plans to recruit as many workers as possible and has already talked to the local labor office about hiring employees . It is estimated that new factory will employ ultimately up to 5000 people from the surrounding area and the total investment will reach the amount of 147 million USD (3 billion CZK).
Mr. Terry Gou the President and Executive Manager of the Foxconn Company took part in the Ground-breaking Ceremony together with the Czech Prime Minister Mr. Mirek Topolánek and the Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Martin Říman and planted together the first Ginko Bilobu tree in front of the future factory entrance.
