Exhibition of Franz Kafka in Tallinn

On April 22, 2013, there was an opening of the exhibition of Franz Kafka´s life and art in the National Library in Tallinn.

An opening ceremony of the exhibition of Franz Kafka´s life and art took place on April 22nd 2013 in the National Library in Tallinn. The exhibition was arranged in cooperation of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Relations and Franz Kafka´s society by the occasion of 130th anniversary of Kafka´s birth.

Diplomats, members of Estonian parliament as well as representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Relations and other ministries took part in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition was opened with speeches of the director of the National Library of Estonia Mrs. Janne Andresso, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H. E. Mr. Richard Kadlčák, and the MP of the Estonian parliament and member of the Board of National Library Igor Gräzin. In their addresses, the speakers mentioned that Franz Kafka has been one of the most influential literary persons of the 20th century whose art is still vital and attracts readers all over the world.

The exhibition, lasting until the 18th of May, has been accompanied with selection of Kafka´s writings from collection of the National Library.
