Visit of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech parliament Mrs. Miroslava Němcová in Estonia

On June 2-4, 2013 Mrs. Miroslava Němcová, Speaker of the Czech Parliament, paid an official visit to thze Republic of Estonia

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Mrs. Miroslava Němcová, paid an official visit to the Republic of Estonia on June 2-4, 2013. During her visit, she met with her counterpart and Speaker of Riigikogu, Mrs. Ene Ergma, the Deputy Speaker, Mr. J. Ratas, the members of the Estonian-Czech parliamentary group, and the Chairman of the Cultural Committee, Mr. U. Klaas. Mrs. Němcová also met with the Prime Minister of Estonia, Mr. Andrus Ansip.

Talks with the representatives of Estonia were mainly concentrated on the Czech-Estonian relations, cooperation between the parliaments, prospective opportunities for the development of economic cooperation, possibilities for Czech companies to participate in the Rail Baltica project, as well as the current European issues.  

Representatives of Estonia expressed their thanks for the participation in the NATO air policing mission over the airspace of the Baltic States in the second half of 2012 and appreciated the decision of the Czech Republic to join the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, which has existed in Tallinn since 2008.

In the frame of her visit, Mrs. Němcová, visited the National Library of Estonia, Museum KUMU, and the ICT Demo Centre, where she was introduced to the history and the current implementation of e-government in Estonia.
